In the 2025-2026 school year 100% of the children in Scotland County are being
offered free breakfast and lunch. What happens when school is out? The fun, the food, and the fellowship that our children enjoy are gone. So the question is, "What do we do about that?" The answer is the Kidz Canteen Summer Meals Program!

WHAT DO FEEDING SITES GET TO DO?
Activities such as Vacation Bible School, mentoring programs, sports, tutoring, and a host of other program can be a part of a feeding site.
The activities that can take place at a site are endless. Each feeding site should ask, "What skill sets are available among our volunteers? How can they benefit the children that come to our site: What can we offer that will draw kids to us?"
Through the Kidz Canteen Summer Meals Program feeding sites are established throughout the county. These sites offer nutritious food in a safe environment. They provide innovative, "out-of-the-box" FUN activities and programming that attracts children. Summer Meals is the place to be in the Summer!
